Sushi party

I made three kinds of sushi
・salmon, cucumber (Not BC roll)
・Tomato, Flesh basil, Mozzarella Cheese
・avocado, culb meat(fake)
This is my first try to make BC roll.
I was little worrying about weather good or bad.
But after cooking I got confidense.

Today’s Japanese cuisine is "BC roll".
Actually "BC roll" is not Japanese traditional style sushi.
But taste is so nice,and looks beauriful!
Ingredient
・Sushi race : See the link below
Tip:You should choose Japanese ,China or Korea rice.
Because those kind of rice has stickiness.
It's really fit for sushi rice.
・Seaweed sheet
・Sesame seed
・Your favorite Ingredient
Recipe
1.Put seaweed sheet on "Makisu".See the photo below.
2.Spread sushi rice on seaweed sheet evenly.
3.Sprinkle sesame seed on the rice,put rap sheet on the rice.4.Turn it over and put ingredient on the seaweed sheet.5.Roll it from the edge. Once or twice, grab the roll tightly,ajast the shape.
Today I used Tomato, Flesh basil, Mozzarella Cheese.
I think using uncured ham or smoked salmon instead of seaweed sheet
also makes good combination.

Toronto Jazz Festival3

I had precious time.
At first, I went to Greek Town to watch
trio named "Sultans of String"
They played Gpsy Jazz like a Django Rheinhardt.
Their parformance were really variety and flexible.
Next, I watched New Orleans Jazz band
"Preservation Hall Jazz Band"
I've never seen this style of Jazz.
I must have been given power or something special by them.
I thought when I'm getting old I'll never stop playing music.

Toronto Jazz Festival2

Below pictures are this festival's main stage.
Everynight famous musicians are performing here
For example,Marcus Miller,Maceo Parker,McCoy Tyner,
Kenny Garret ,and John Pizzarelli.
This noon, I watched "Rob McConnell Tentet"
It's no charge consert.
This group performed "Big band style" Jazz.
They played some standard numbers.
I was greatly touched by their smoky sound.

Toronto Jazz Festival


Toronto Jazz Festival comes over from june 23th to july 2th.
I've been looking forward it.
The festival owned by TD Canada trust bank has several venues.
Toront's is one of the biggest Jazz festival in Canada.
I'll report this years festival.Check it out!!

Dancing

I went to salsa dance club with my homestay family.
Even though I've never ecperienced that kind of dancing,
I really enjoyed.If I have spare time,I'd like to take
a dance lesson.Besides music was owesome.
The music genre called "Reggaeton"is popular.
Last year,It also became popular in Japan too.
I might be into it!!

My guitar


It's been a while.

I brought my flamenco type guitar to here in Canada from Japan.
My guitar's brand is called "Camps" made in spain.
It's rare brand in Japan.
I bought it about two years ago in Osaka.
And then I changed my picking style from using flat pick to
using finger, also I was getting to be interested in acoustic nylon
strings sound.
The top is made of solid spruce wood. Side and back is made of
rose wood. And fingerbord is made of ebony.
My favorite!!

Japanese cuisine recipe2

Today’s Japanese cuisine is named ”Nanbanzuke”.
It’s also sour taste and the taste is similar to marinade.

Ingredient
・Fish or meat anything you want
・Potato(corn) starch
・Chinese green onion or white onion
・Red pepper
・Sauce
150 ml vinegar
1/4 tsp sugar
dashi soup stock=4g soup stock melt in 250 ml water
2 tsp sake
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp soy sauce

Recipe
1.Dredge potato starch on both sides of the Fish(meat).
Pat off excess starch.
2.Start frying when oil temperature reaches about 180C.
When fish(meat) starts to brown, turn down oil temperature to about 160C.
3.Mix soy sauce, vinegar, sake, sugar, dashi soup in a pan and
boil for 3 min.
4.After stop boiling, add chopped green onion,red pepper and sesame oil.
5.Soak fish(meat) into sauce for at least 15 min.

Japanese cuisine recipe

Thanks for visiting!!

At first I’ll introduce Japanese cuisine named ”Sunomono” and its recipe.
Why I introduce? Because my current homestay family really like it!
Sunomono are vinegared dishes in Japanese cuisine. Su indicates vinegar

in Japanese.

But I think Sunomono that I introduce today isn’t traditional style.
I recomposed the recipe and made my own style.

Ingredient
・Cucumber
・Sea weed( Japanese name ”Wakame”)
・Small shrimp
・Noodle: Note You must choose transparent one. Maybe it comes
from China. Japanese name is“Harusame”
・Vinegar soup
200 ml vinegar
1 tsp sugar
8g soup stock melt in 750 ml water


Recipe
1.Slice cucumber 1mm thickness ,mix with a pinch of salt, and leave it

for 1 hour.(salt down)
2.Scald small shrimp, noodle and cool them down

(by Rinsing with cold water)
3.Mix vinegar, sugar, soup in a bowl and cool it down

(by using refrigerator)
4.Dish up 1,2,sea weed and
pour the soup(3) before eating.
